Job summary

Gap Technical are representing a global manufacturing business seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their Trafford Park facility. The role covers hands-on mechanical maintenance, fault finding and adherence to safety standards.

You will work on early and late shifts, with ONC/HNC/C&G Level 3 trained applicants, reading hydraulic/pneumatic circuits and producing mechanical drawings. Close attention to detail and independent learning are essential.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained to ONC/HNC/C&G Level 3.
• Ability to read hydraulics and pneumatics circuits.
• Read and produce mechanical drawings.
• Carried out PPM on mechanical equipment.
• Electrical and mechanical aptitude essential.
• Complex problem solving and fault finding experience.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical activities on-site as directed.
• All planned maintenance tasks, change overs, and other work as required by the engineering manager.
• Diagnose breakdown faults - mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, process.
• Permitting compliance with safety requirements and liaison with other departments.
• Ensure equipment, materials and tools are on-hand for work execution.
• Report resources and time utilized, job scope expansion, rework or deferred maintenance, and keep tasks logged.
• Equipment problems troubleshooting and basic root cause analysis.
• Provide technical support to all machine breakdowns and changeovers.

Performance Objectives

• Execute mechanical activities on-site as directed
• All planned maintenance tasks, change overs, other additional work as required by engineering manager
• Diagnose breakdown faults - mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, process
• Permitting compliance with safety requirements and liaison and coordination with other Departments as required.
• Ensures equipment, materials and tools are on-hand for work execution.
• Reports resources and time utilized, job scope expansion, rework or deferred maintenance as required whilst keeping all tasks & activities logged and up-dated.
• Equipment Problems Trouble-shooting and Basic Root Cause Analysis and Development of Solutions.
• Provide Technical Support to all machine breakdowns and changeovers.

Person Specification
