Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere in Knutsford, on-site, seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep estates facilities, equipment and guest environments safe, reliable and impeccably maintained, delivering the high‑quality experience Fairmont is known for.

You will perform routine repairs across guest rooms and public areas, assist with HVAC and electrical tasks, follow safety standards, and work with engineering and housekeeping teams to ensure smooth operations.

Qualificações

• Diploma or vocational certification in mechanical maintenance or equivalent.
• 2–3 years in a maintenance/technician role within hospitality or facilities.
• Knowledge of building systems including mechanical plant and hotel infrastructure.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical/technical issues.
• Safe use of tools and repair practices; interpret manuals/diagrams.
• Excellent spoken/written English and guest communication.
• Organised and detail-oriented with safety focus.
• Team player with professional conduct aligned to Fairmont brand.

Responsabilidades

Your purpose will be:

As a Maintenance Technician at Fairmont Cheshire, The Mere, your purpose is to ensure the estates facilities, equipment, and guest environments remain safe, reliable, and impeccably maintained. You play a key role in delivering the high‑quality experience Fairmont is known for by responding quickly to maintenance needs, performing preventative tasks, and supporting the smooth daily operation of the property.

• General Maintenance- Carry out routine repairs across guest rooms, public areas, spa, leisure facilities, and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Preventative Tasks- Complete scheduled inspections and servicing to reduce downtime and prevent equipment failures.
• HVAC & Electrical Support - Assist with basic electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling system troubleshooting.
• Safety Compliance - Ensure all work meets health, safety, and regulatory standards; report hazards promptly.
• Guest Support -Respond to guest maintenance requests professionally, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently.
• Equipment Care-Maintain tools and machinery, ensuring they are safe, clean, and ready for use.
• Collaboration- Work closely with the wider engineering and housekeeping teams to support smooth operations.
• Record Keeping -Log completed work, report recurring issues, and support asset‑management processes.
• Emergency Response- Act quickly during urgent situations such as leaks, power issues, or equipment failures.

• Diploma or vocational certification in mechanical maintenance, building services, facilities operations, or equivalent experience
• 2–3 years’ experience in a maintenance or technician role within hospitality, leisure, or facilities management
• Knowledge of building systems including mechanical plant, hotel infrastructure, and general facilities equipment
• Troubleshooting ability to diagnose and resolve a wide range of mechanical and technical issues
• Mechanical competence with safe use of tools, components, and repair practices
• Ability to interpret documentation such as maintenance manuals, safety guidelines, and technical diagrams
• Effective communication with guests and colleagues; proficient in written and spoken English
• Strong organisation with the ability to prioritise tasks and maintain attention to detail
• Commitment to safety and service focused on operational excellence and guest satisfaction
• Professional conduct demonstrating integrity, teamwork, and presentation aligned with Fairmont brand standards
