Job summary

Ritz Recruitment in City of London is seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician/Handyman to handle repairs and maintenance across student accommodation. You will respond to requests, perform general repairs and support preventative maintenance in a fast-paced environment.

This hands-on role requires practical trade skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to resident satisfaction. Tools are provided and holiday pay is included, with no CSCS card required.

Qualifications

• Proven maintenance or handyman/trade experience.
• Strong practical skills across general maintenance disciplines.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Reliable and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests via internal systems.
• Carry out general repairs, including plumbing, decorating, joinery.
• Support both reactive and planned maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of rooms and communal areas.
• Identify and address maintenance issues and health & safety risks.
• Support record-keeping for maintenance logs, inspections, and compliance.
• Deliver a professional and approachable service to residents.
• Communicate clearly and effectively across teams and with residents.
