Job summary

Strand Palace in central London is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day running of the hotel by carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance across all areas. You will help deliver our mission of “Serving London Love” by ensuring a safe, well‑functioning environment for guests and staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience preferable
• Confident conversationalist, engaging with guests

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance tasks, routine inspections and reactive repairs
• Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for staff and guests, ensure audits are satisfactory
• Complete and maintain health and safety documentation related to water, fire, electrical equipment and other technical requirements
• Liaise with contractors on site, ensure permits to work are in place and staff are aware of their presence
• In emergencies, locate and isolate valves, switches, power supplies and drain runs throughout the hotel

What You Will Be Doing

• Carry out daily maintenance tasks, including routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and reactive repairs
• To assist in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for staff and guests, and to ensure all audits, both internal and external, are satisfactory
• To complete and maintain documentation in line with health and safety regulations relating to water, fire, electrical equipment, appliances, and other technical requirements
• To liaise with contractors on site, ensuring they are signed in, have completed all necessary permits to work, and that relevant staff are aware of their presence
• In the event of an emergency, to know the location of, and how to isolate, all valves, switches, power supplies, and drain runs throughout the hotel
