Warner Hotels at Corton (Aldeburgh, Suffolk) is seeking a Maintenance Team Member to perform painting, decorating and essential repairs within a busy coastal hotel. The role is a 5‑month fixed‑term contract with potential to become permanent.

Qualifications

• Painter/Decorator: skilled and detail-oriented with decorating experience.
• Independent maintenance tasks: care for building to keep areas fully functional.
• Able to use a range of equipment including hand/power tools and door lock hardware.
• Guest-focused attitude with a proactive problem-solving approach.
• People-oriented mindset prioritising the guest journey.
• Supportive team member who helps where needed.

Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating and prep works.
• Maintain the building and carry out minor repairs to surfaces and structures.
• Operate and maintain a range of tools and equipment used in maintenance.
• Ensure guest areas are clean, safe and fully functional.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance Team Supervisor for smooth operations.

Join our team at Corton, part of the Warner Hotels Group. This 181-bedroom coastal chalet-themed hotel is set on the Suffolk coast with a relaxed holiday atmosphere.

Up to 12.71 per hour (dependent on your age)

This is a 5-month fixed-term contract with the potential to become a permanent position. Should the role become permanent, the successful candidate will be given first consideration and the opportunity to accept the permanent role before it is advertised externally.

As part of our supportive team, you will develop and grow into delivering a great service within the Maintenance department. Alongside the Maintenance Team Supervisor you will be a fundamental part of the smooth running of the guest journey from the moment each guest arrives.

What are we looking for?

• A skilled and detail-oriented Painter and Decorator to carry out internal and external painting and decorating, preparation works to walls and minor repairs to surfaces and structures prior to decorating/painting.
• Someone who can work independently to care for the maintenance of the building carrying out minor ensuring the building is not only looking its best, but all areas are fully functioning.
• Able to use and maintain a range of equipment to include loose hand tools, power tools and door lock equipment.
• Be guest focused, always having a positive and problem-solving attitude.
• A people person who would put the guest journey at the heart of everything they do.
• Someone who will care about the wider team and look to support wherever needed.

What skills do I need?

• Previous experience as a maintenance technician will help but not essential - mainly a willingness to learn about maintenance covering a large hotel.
