Job summary

Warner Hotels on Hayling Island is hiring a Maintenance Technician to join the Lakeside team. You will help maintain the building and contribute to a smooth guest journey through essential repairs and decorating.

This role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and experience with painting, decorating, and small maintenance tasks. You will use a range of tools and support the maintenance team to keep areas welcoming and fully functional.

Qualifications

• Experience as a maintenance technician preferred or willingness to learn about hotel maintenance.
• Ability to work independently.
• Carry out painting and decorating and minor repairs.
• Be guest-focused and maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating and prepare walls for decorating.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance to surfaces and structures.
• Ensure building areas are fully functioning and well-presented for guests.
• Utilise range of equipment including hand tools and power tools.

Join our team at Lakeside, part of the Warner Hotels Group. This hotel on Hayling Island has spa facilities, a cabaret restaurant, and overlooks a lake near the Hampshire coast.

Up to £12.71 per hour (dependent on your age)

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Technician at Warner Hotels. As part of our supportive team, you will develop and grow into delivering a great service within the Maintenance department. Alongside the Maintenance Team Supervisor you will be a fundamental part of the smooth running of the guest journey from the moment each guest arrives.

By working together with a large diverse and multi-skilled team, you will ensure all our guests enjoy the highest quality stay keeping abreast of all essential maintenance repairs and minor works.

What are we looking for?

• A skilled and detail-oriented Painter and Decorator to carry out internal and external painting and decorating, preparation works to walls and minor repairs to surfaces and structures prior to decorating/painting.
• Someone who can work independently to care for the maintenance of the building carrying out minor ensuring the building is not only looking it’s best, but all areas are fully functioning.
• Able to use and maintain a range of equipment to include loose hand tools, power tools and door lock equipment.
• Be guest focused, always having a positive and problem-solving attitude.
• A people person who would put the guest journey at the heart of everything they do.
• Someone who will care about the wider team and look to support wherever needed.

What skills do I need?

• Previous experience as a maintenance technician will help but not essential – mainly a willingness to learn about maintenance covering a large hotel.
