Job description

We currently have a vacancy at our Severnside Plant for a Maintenance Team Leader. The key responsibility of the MTL will be to lead the maintenance of the site, ensuring that equipment and facilities are maintained safely and efficiently.

You will help drive the personal development of the maintenance team, manage their daily activities, and implement continuous improvements in mechanical and electrical equipment and maintenance processes. Additionally, you will utilize data to drive plant improvements and provide engineering support for capex projects.

Major / Key Accountabilities

1. Manage maintenance issues and delegate resources appropriately.
2. Support engineering projects as needed.
3. Develop and oversee a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensuring all preventive maintenance is performed and planning for missed activities.
4. Audit and ensure compliance of engineering data systems.
5. Optimize equipment to enhance performance and product quality, achieving KPIs.
6. Manage facilities.
7. Develop strategies for maintenance material spending and cost management.
8. Support installation of new machinery and equipment, including drawing up specifications.
9. Continuously train and develop self and team members.
10. Identify opportunities for business improvements.
11. Provide technical expertise to the team.
12. Develop, implement, and monitor KPIs for all responsibilities.
13. Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks.
14. Manage contractors to ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
15. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies to protect staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds, apprenticeship, HND, HNC, or equivalent in an engineering-related discipline.

Preferred Education

• Technical/Professional Qualification in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Mechanics.
