First Achieves Engineering Department is seeking an experienced Maintenance Team Leader (Electrical Bias) to join our leading client in Edinburgh. You will lead a shift-based maintenance team, plan daily objectives, and ensure safety and reliability of electrical and hydraulic systems.

The role requires at least 5 years in heavy engineering, strong leadership, and experience with PLCs and CMMS; training for HV responsibilities provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a heavy engineering or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, HV/MV electrical systems, LOLER, and pressure systems.
• Experience with PLC systems and CMMS is desirable.
• Proven leadership skills - experience managing teams is preferred.

Location: East Lothian

Shifts: 3-shift rotation (Days, Backs, Nights) 37 Hour Work Week

Salary: Circa £40K + up to £10K shift allowance

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and schedule your team to meet daily and strategic maintenance objectives.

• Drive improvements in equipment reliability, maintainability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).


• Manage contractors, ensure H&S compliance, and uphold risk assessment standards.


• Support cost control and optimise use of materials and external services.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a heavy engineering or similar environment.


• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, HV/MV electrical systems, LOLER, and pressure systems.


• Familiarity with PLC systems and CMMS is highly desirable.


• Proven leadership skills - experience managing teams is preferred.


• Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving abilities.


• Financial awareness and experience with maintenance budgets and procurement.


• Must be willing to work on a 3 shift rotation, Days, Mids, Nights.


• Time served with valid UK documentation.
