Job summary

Magna is seeking a Maintenance Team Leader (Downstream) in Telford to coordinate a maintenance team on shift, ensuring plant availability and PM completion. You will liaise with production and supervisors to hit targets and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires a strong background in maintenance, multi-skilling, and leadership, with experience in electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic fault-finding and 5S practices. A proactive, safety-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance function with team leadership.
• Time served apprenticeship in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
• Willing to multi-skill and delegate to skilled workers.
• Fault-finding experience from electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
• Proficient with MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint and report writing.
• 5S methodology experience and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance team on shift to meet plant targets and availability.
• Coordinate CM, CI and PM schedules, reporting progress to management.
• Coach, mentor and appraise team members annually.
• Communicate effectively with production teams and internal customers.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are followed; conduct risk assessments.
• Apply root-cause analysis for repeat or major breakdowns and drive improvements.
