Job summary

Amazon Filters Ltd is seeking a proactive Maintenance Team Leader to drive reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement across our manufacturing site in the UK. You will lead three Maintenance Technicians, plan maintenance, reduce downtime and foster a safe, high-performing team culture.

Working alongside Production, Engineering and Senior Management, you will balance preventative maintenance, breakdown support and process improvements, while developing your team and delivering operational

Qualifications

  • Significant maintenance and engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Previous supervisory, Team Leader or people management experience.
  • Proven ability to build strong working relationships and manage a diverse team.
  • Experience conducting appraisals, providing feedback and managing performance.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding capabilities.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Teams, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing demands effectively.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and operational compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan and prioritise maintenance activities across the site, balancing preventative maintenance, breakdown response and improvement projects.
  • Own and manage the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme, ensuring all tasks are completed to the required standard and timeframe.
  • Coordinate a prompt and effective response to equipment and machinery breakdowns.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Maintain effective spares and consumables management to support maintenance requirements.
  • Lead and develop a team of three Maintenance Technicians, creating a positive, accountable and collaborative working environment.
  • Set clear expectations, objectives and priorities for individuals and the team.
  • Conduct appraisals, provide regular feedback and support the development of team members.
  • Manage performance, attendance and conduct matters in partnership with the People & Culture team.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and training activities as required.
  • Act as the key link between the maintenance team and the wider business.
  • Build strong working relationships with Production, Engineering, Facilities and Senior Management teams.
  • Communicate priorities, progress and performance clearly to both the maintenance team and business stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively to support operational targets and business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce downtime, improve efficiency and enhance maintenance processes.
  • Monitor and report on maintenance KPIs, including machine downtime, breakdown trends, response times and repeat failures.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements and promote a strong safety culture across all maintenance activities.
  • Support adherence to ISO standards and company quality requirement.

Job description

As our Maintenance Team Leader, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations. Leading a team of three Maintenance Technicians, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance activities, minimising equipment downtime and creating a safe, highly engaged and high-performing team environment.

This role exists to strengthen our maintenance capability, improve asset performance and support the delivery of operational objectives across the business. You will work closely with Production, Engineering and Senior Management teams to balance preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown support and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining hands‑on engineering expertise with strong leadership and people management skills.

This role is based on 37.5 hours per week, with standard working hours of 08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 - 14:00 on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Requirements
