Job summary

ATA Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Team Leader in the United Kingdom to oversee a busy maintenance operation. The role combines hands-on engineering with people leadership, coordinating a multi-skilled team and prioritising workloads to maximise uptime.

You will lead fault finding, safety-focused maintenance, and continuous improvement projects, while developing your leadership career in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised engineering qualification equivalent to Level 3 or above (NVQ, City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC).
• Experience carrying out maintenance and fault finding within an engineering environment.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to motivate and support others; leadership or mentoring experience.
• Experience coordinating workloads, projects or people, formally or informally.

Maintenance Team Leader

Salary: £53,000 with shift allowance

Shifts: Double Days (rotating 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm)

Overtime: 1.5x Mon-Sat | 2x Sun & Bank Holidays

Holidays: 22 days + 8 Bank Holidays, increasing with service

Role details

The successful candidate will split their time between supporting the team, coordinating maintenance activities and remaining involved in practical engineering tasks.

Requirements

• A recognised engineering qualification equivalent to a Level 3 or above (NVQ, City and Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC etc.).
• Experience carrying out maintenance and fault finding within an engineering environment.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• The ability to motivate and support others.
• Experience coordinating workloads, projects or people, either formally or informally.
