Job summary

Transport for Wales is seeking a skilled supervisor to allocate servicing, examinations and repairs on Traction and Rolling Stock, directing a team to meet safety, productivity, availability and reliability targets. You will ensure staff are competent and trained, monitor quality checks, and collaborate with the Production Manager on training and employee relations, with Welsh language skills welcomed.

The role requires leadership, hands-on craft experience, and the ability to manage resources

Qualifications

• Qualified craftsmen with leadership experience.
• Experience of managing resources.
• Strong leadership and people management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Allocate and direct the team to carry out repairs and examinations on Traction and Rolling Stock in accordance with the DMS, VMI or Local Instructions.
• Carry out quality checks on examinations and identify training needs.
• Ensure staff are certified competent to undertake maintenance tasks and comply with depot instructions.
• Ensure competencies are maintained.
• Assist the Production Manager in developing good employee relations and report on disciplinary matters.
