Job summary

Bandrum Nursing Home is seeking a Maintenance Support & Driver to assist the Estates Manager with general maintenance and transport duties across the home. The role combines hands-on maintenance with driving to ensure residents and staff receive practical support.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, reliable, organised and comfortable working around residents and families in a care environment. Weekend work is required and full training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Hold a full, clean UK driving licence.
• Experience with basic joinery and plumbing.
• Willing to drive residents to appointments and run transport duties.
• Practical and hands-on approach.
• Reliable, punctual and organised.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance around the home and grounds.
• Support basic joinery and plumbing tasks where required.
• Complete driving duties as needed.
• Check the transport diary and plan daily tasks.
• Deliver and collect internal mail, prescriptions, test samples, goods and supplies.
• Transport residents to appointments, outings and admissions/discharges.
• Transport visitors to and from the home where required.
• Keep company vehicles clean and presentable.
• Report maintenance issues to the Estates Manager.
• Maintain records and complete required training.
• Support the wider team with additional practical tasks.

At Bandrum Nursing Home, we are looking for a Maintenance Support & Driver to support the day-to-day running of our home.

This is a varied role combining general maintenance with driving and transport duties, helping to make sure that our residents, colleagues and wider services have the practical support they need.

The role would suit someone who is hands-on, organised, flexible and comfortable working around residents and families in a care environment.

THE ROLE

As Maintenance Support & Driver, you will support the Estates Manager with general maintenance and transport duties across the home.

Your role will include:

• Carrying out general maintenance around the home and grounds
• Supporting basic joinery and plumbing tasks where required
• Completing driving duties as needed
• Checking the transport diary and planning daily tasks
• Delivering and collecting internal mail, prescriptions, test samples, goods and supplies
• Transporting residents to appointments, outings and where required for admission or discharge
• Transporting visitors to and from the home where required
• Keeping company vehicles clean and presentable
• Reporting any maintenance issues, incidents or concerns to the Estates Manager
• Maintaining appropriate records and completing required training
• Supporting the wider team with additional practical tasks as required

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

You will:

• Hold a full, clean UK driving licence

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

It would be helpful if you already have:

• Have previous experience in a maintenance, facilities or estates role
• Previous experience within a care, healthcare, charity or regulated environment

£13.75 per hour

Full-time, permanent position. Please note - weekend work will be required.
