Job description

Help us make a difference as a Maintenance Supervisor in Seaham.

Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour day shifts from 06:00 to 18:00, totaling 42 hours per week.

Salary: £21.61 per hour plus a 2% shift allowance.

Role Overview

Supervise maintenance team members and support the Maintenance Manager. Ensure fault finding and repairs are prioritized and responded to within acceptable timeframes. Assist in maintaining production and ancillary equipment to keep them in optimal condition. Conduct routine maintenance inspections as directed by management, report and repair defects. Support production and engineering teams, and improve maintenance service quality. Oversee spare parts management, ensuring OEM-recommended critical spares and service parts are available and properly stored in the MRO stores.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform fault finding on process, ancillary, and support equipment, executing repairs to resolve breakdowns.
• Maintain plant equipment daily to ensure maximum efficiency and meet KPIs.
• Assist with projects to modify processes, enhance performance, decommission redundant equipment, and install new equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety legislation and maintain safe working practices.
• Support planning and organization of annual and routine shutdowns, ensuring availability of maintenance materials and spare parts.

Requirements

• Maintenance Engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical).
• Previous supervisory experience in engineering maintenance.
• Experience working within a maintenance team.
• Ability to supervise and lead a team effectively.
• Experience in a recycling environment.
• Knowledge of the recycling industry.
