Job description

Maintenance Supervisor + GBP42.5k - GBP45k + 33 days holiday (inc BH) + 8am-4pm Monday - Friday + Onsite free parking

Our manufacturing client based in Irlam are looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their engineering department. The role will include managing a team of six fitters/ electricians over a single day shift and overseeing the day to day maintenance plans and execution, along with driving improvement projects throughout the department and factory. The ideal candidate will be well versed in a manufacturing environment and have both mechanical and electrical experience.

Maintenance Supervisor Duties

• Building a high performing, multiskilled maintenance team of fitters and electricians, setting clear performance standards and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with maintenance schedules, quality standards and safety protocols
• Develop and oversee SOPS for consistent and traceable processes.
• Foster a disciplined, safety-first work environment focused on efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Lead daily maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs to enhance equipment longevity
• Organise incoming repair, project and breakdown jobs for efficient resolution within schedule.
• Maintain high standards in mechanical and electrical work, prioritising safety and quality
• Track downtime, analyse trends and implement solutions for improved maintenance outcomes
• Keep repair areas organised and uphold housekeeping standards
• Keep accurate records of maintenance, equipment performance and inventory
• Provide regular updates to the Engineering Manager on team performance, resource needs and budgets.

Qualifications for the Maintenance Supervisor:

• Relevant qualifications in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or a related field (NVQ, BTEC, HNC/HND)
• IOSH/NEBOSH health and safety qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or above)
• Additional electrical with PLC Logic and troubleshooting (Siemens/ Preferred) would be preferred
• Proven experience in a supervisory/ Team Leader role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
• Strong knowledge of maintenance management practices, including preventative maintenance programs
