Job summary

Generator London is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee on-site maintenance tasks, coordinate with contractors, and safeguard health and safety across the building. You will lead a hands-on team, ensuring repairs and preventive work are carried out to high standards.

Join a vibrant hospitality brand; you'll manage daily operations, respond to issues, and be ready to work out-of-hours to keep generator assets in top condition.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar role.
• Strong leadership and people management abilities.
• Solid understanding of H&S regulations and safe working practices.
• Practical knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance tasks when the Maintenance Manager is unavailable and delegate duties to keep the department running smoothly.
• Maintain and preserve the internal and external structure of the building.
• Liaise with contractors and ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
• Ensure contractors understand responsibilities, fire safety, and local regulations.
• Manage day-to-day health and safety issues on site and ensure follow-up on defects.
• Keep managers informed of major defects in the building, plan or equipment.
• Be prepared to work out-of-hours to maintain generator assets.
• Perform Duty Manager shifts when required.
• Communicate effectively to motivate the team and achieve goals.
• Oversee works to ensure they meet required standards and follow up as needed.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• In the absence of the Maintenance Manager, co-ordinate all maintenance tasks, supervise, delegate, and prioritise duties to ensure the smooth running of the department
• Maintain and preserve the internal and external structure of the building
• Liaise and co-ordinate with contractors on work to be carried out under contract agreements
• Ensure that contractors are aware of their responsibilities while on the premises and are informed of health and safety requirements, e.g. fire regulations, fire exits, hazardous substances
• Have a comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure compliance with all statutory local legislation and regulation, in particular, H&S, building regulations and Fire Safety
• Be responsible for the day to day Health and Safety issues within the property
• Satisfy the relevant educational requirements needed in order to effectively carry out your health and safety duties
• Communicate effectively and appropriately in all directions so that the team understands its goals and is motivated to achieve them
• Ensure that the works carried out are to the standards required. Take Report if any contractor recommended follow up work and resolve immediately
• Keep managers informed of any major defects in the building, plan or equipment which could affect the successful running of the property
• Be prepared to work out-of-hours in order to maintain the generator assets in full working order
• Perform Duty Manager shift when required

YOUR EXPERIENCE

• Proven experience in a similar role
• Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
• Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
