Qualifications

The Royal Ballet and Opera House, Covent Garden, are currently recruiting a qualified Engineer for their in-house estates team. This is a unique opportunity to join a distinguished estates team and work in one of London's most renowned buildings.

Responsibilities

In this static shift engineer role, you will deliver Mechanical and Electrical planned and reactive work across the Royal Ballet and Opera House buildings. Your duties include:

  • PPMs and reactive maintenance on RBO buildings
  • HVAC systems and water services maintenance (cooling towers, pumps, calorifiers, chillers, TMVs)
  • Boilers, heating systems, and LV/HV systems maintenance
  • Providing technical support and direction to external contractors
  • Supporting colleagues in maintaining building integrity and record keeping

You will work on a 4 days on, 4 days off shift, from 7am to 7pm/night shifts.

Candidate Requirements
  • Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services qualification (e.g., Level 3 Plumbing and Heating, NVQ Level 2 or 3 Mechanical, Level 3 City and Guilds Electrical, 18th Edition)
  • Significant multi-skilled maintenance experience (M&E) in large, complex public buildings
  • Experience working on day and night shifts
  • Strong IT skills; experience with CAFM systems
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance in diverse estates
  • Team player with strong communication skills in a busy environment
