Job summary

SRG in Avonmouth is seeking an experienced Section Manager to lead a team of engineering technicians in a major distribution operation. You will ensure that site assets are maintained safely and efficiently, delivering strategies that support performance and long-term sustainability.

You will work in a fast-paced logistics environment, drive operational excellence, and contribute to safety, compliance and governance while managing budgets and stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in distribution/logistics/industrial maintenance.
• Proven track record leading multi-skilled maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing audits and maintenance governance.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations, BMS and CAFM platforms.
• Electrical qualification or HVAC qualification.
• NEBOSH certification or equivalent safety training.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the maintenance plan across your area of responsibility.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and contractors.
• Drive a culture of high performance, safety, and customer service.
• Ensure compliance, safety, and assurance requirements are met.
• Lead audits, inspections and contractor works.
• Coach and develop a team of engineering technicians and tradespeople.
• Support budget management and capital planning activities.
• Oversee delivery of Planned Preventative Maintenance and statutory works.
• Ensure maintenance projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Contribute to sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives.
