Carbon 60 is seeking a Section Manager in Avonmouth to lead a maintenance team within a major distribution operation. The role involves owning a critical function in a fast-paced logistics environment with responsibility for safety, compliance, and performance.

You will manage PPM, audits, budgets, and contractor governance, while driving improvements and sustainability initiatives on site. A permanent, full-time position with competitive salary is offered.

• Ensure all compliance, safety, and assurance requirements are met to maintain operational continuity and minimise risk.
• Conduct compliance audits across maintenance activities and contractor works.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineering technicians and skilled tradespeople.
• Support budget management, revenue expenditure control, and capital planning activities.
• Oversee the delivery of all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), statutory maintenance activities, and remedial works.
• Ensure maintenance projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
• Contribute to sustainability initiatives and carbon reduction programmes across the site.

Section Manager

Location: Avonmouth

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts of 6:00am to 2:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:00pm (two-week rota)

On-Call Requirement: Participation in a regular call-out rota, typically every other week, with the ability to attend site within one hour when required.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Significant experience within a distribution, logistics, industrial, or retail maintenance environment.
• Proven experience leading and developing multi-skilled maintenance teams.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including Legionella, LOLER, PUWER, Fire Safety, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Experience managing audits, compliance programmes, and maintenance governance.
• Knowledge of CDM regulations, Building Management Systems (BMS), and CAFM platforms.
• A recognised electrical qualification as a time-served Electrician or an equivalent HVAC qualification.
• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent site safety certification.
• Strong analytical, reporting, procurement, and supplier management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
