Job summary

CYGNET is seeking a Maintenance Operative/Assistant in Sheffield for a full-time role (40 hours/week, Mon-Fri, 8am–4pm) at Sheffield Day Service. You will perform maintenance, basic joinery, plumbing and general building work, while keeping equipment and vehicles in good order.

DBS check will be required; travel to sites and on-call work may be needed. £13.15 per hour, with pension, cycle-to-work and employee discount schemes available.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar maintenance role or self-employed work in recent years.
• Full valid driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service.
• Carry out tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting and general building work.
• Maintain equipment, services and vehicles.
• Comply with safe working practices and report faults and hazards.
• Travel to other sites and be on call for emergency repairs outside normal hours.
• Check fire alarm points weekly and ensure exits and safety devices are functioning.
