Job summary

Places for People is hiring a Maintenance Engineer Plumber to uphold plumbing maintenance across student accommodation sites. You will report to the Maintenance Manager and perform planned and reactive tasks to high standards, ensuring safety and efficiency on site.

The role is on-site, 5 days a week, with a 9am to 6pm schedule and a 1-hour lunch break. DBS checks are required; diverse and inclusive recruitment practices are in place.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
• Experience in maintenance plumbing (commercial/FM preferred).
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of water systems, drainage and pipework.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Desirable: Gas Safe registration, or experience within student accommodation or facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive plumbing issues.
• Ensure works are completed safely, efficiently and to required standards.
• Support the upkeep of student accommodation sites with on-site plumbers.
• Work 5 days a week on site from 9am–6pm with 1 hour lunch.
• Adhere to safeguarding and recruitment policies as applicable.
