Job summary

Weston College is seeking a Plumber to provide maintenance and repair across its campuses, primarily at Knightstone Campus. The role is full-time (37 hours per week) with duties spanning heating, hot and cold water, sanitary ware, drainage, and ventilation plant.

The post holder will be based at Knightstone Campus but will cover Weston College Group campuses as required. A shift allowance of £1,000 per annum applies due to shift pattern, and on-call duties are a requirement.

Qualifications

• Must have City & Guilds or NVQ 3 apprenticeship in plumbing, HVAC, Engineering Maintenance or related subject.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Full driving licence.
• Ability to work on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• To undertake planned and reactive maintenance and repair tasks on a wide range of mechanical building services plant and equipment across Weston College estate and when required be expected to source and collect spares.
• Be able to investigate, troubleshoot, locate and repair faults, and take full responsibility for specific tasks, and any other aspects that may affect those tasks.
• When required, undertake small installation / alteration work as part of building refurbishment or change of use. This element of work is not routine and therefore will only make up a small element of work duties, as and when available.
• Must be able to commit to covering on-call duties on a rota basis to provide an out-of-hours emergency / first response service 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
• To have served a recognised City & Guilds or NVQ 3 apprenticeship in plumbing, HVAC, Engineering Maintenance or an appropriate engineering discipline or related subject.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Full driving licence.
• Ability to work on own initiative.

Job description

We are looking for a Plumber! To provide maintenance and repair services on a diverse range of building services, including heating systems, hot and cold water systems, sanitary ware, internal plumbing & drainage, and ventilation plant. The post holder will primarily be based at the Knightstone Campus, however cover and maintenance tasks will be conducted across the Weston College Group campuses. This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week. Due to the shift work nature of this role, you will receive a shift allowance of £1,000 per annum. From time-to-time maintenance staff may be required to move large or heavy objects, mechanical aids will be used where possible Day to day duties
