Orion Electrotech Worcester is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner & Stores Coordinator to organise preventative maintenance and manage engineering stores in a busy Worcester site.

You will develop PPM schedules, coordinate maintenance activities, and maintain stock accuracy while driving improvements through data analysis and cross-functional cooperation.

Qualifications

Maintenance Planner &; Stores Coordinator

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner &; Stores Coordinator to support the effective planning of preventative maintenance activities, management of engineering stores, and optimisation of maintenance systems. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and operational teams to ensure maintenance activities are planned efficiently, spare parts are controlled effectively, and maintenance performance data is utilised to drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning
  • Review and develop planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to maximise maintenance effectiveness and equipment reliability.
  • Coordinate and prioritise maintenance requests, ensuring work is scheduled and allocated appropriately across engineering teams.
  • Monitor completion of maintenance plans and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with production and operational stakeholders to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise disruption to business operations.
  • Identify where additional downtime or maintenance resources may be required to complete critical work.
  • Develop and maintain an effective engineering stores system, ensuring stock accuracy, visibility, and control.
  • Identify and maintain appropriate levels of critical spare parts.
  • Implement best practices for stores organisation, stock control, and inventory management.
  • Conduct regular stock reviews and audits to minimise obsolete or excess inventory.
  • Support budget control through accurate tracking of maintenance-related expenditure.
  • Manage purchasing requests for engineering spare parts, consumables, and external maintenance services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Monitor supplier performance, delivery times, and service levels.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms to achieve value for money.
  • Support procurement activities and ensure continuity of supply for critical maintenance items.
  • Maintain and develop maintenance management systems to ensure data accuracy and usability.
  • Produce reports and performance metrics relating to maintenance activities, inventory management, and expenditure.
  • Analyse maintenance performance data and identify trends, opportunities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement projects through data-driven decision making.
  • Track and report on maintenance KPIs, including equipment reliability and maintenance effectiveness.

Experience Required
  • Previous experience within a maintenance planning, engineering coordination, maintenance administration, or engineering stores role.

  • Experience using maintenance management systems (CMMS) and inventory control processes would be highly advantageous.
