Job summary

Mears Group PLC is seeking a General Operative in Belfast to join our Repairs and Maintenance team. The role is largely lone working in occupied and void properties, performing a variety of maintenance tasks and inspections to keep properties in good repair.

You will carry out hands-on work, with responsibilities including basic repairs, ensuring safety checks, and maintaining high standards. Strong practical skills and independence are essential.

Qualifications

• Basic DIY skills including re-plumbing a washing machine, putting up blinds, refixing door handles and siliconing a bath.
• Customer service experience is required.
• IT literate with good communication skills in customer facing roles.

Responsibilities

• Carry out property inspections and a wide range of general maintenance tasks.
• Perform tasks such as changing light bulbs, fitting blinds, applying silicone, securing doors and minor repairs.
• Check smoke alarms during property inspections and follow a structured checklist to meet standards.
