Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Limited is seeking a Maintenance Operative to support the day to day running of a high quality residential building in Newcastle.

This hands-on role involves general repairs across plumbing, joinery and basic electrical work, with fault finding and a strong focus on health and safety. You will manage your own workload, respond to resident requests, and carry out planned checks while escalating larger works to the regional technical team when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, residential or building services position.
• Practical experience across a range of general repairs.
• A professional and approachable manner when dealing with residents.
• Good fault finding and problem solving skills.
• The ability to manage their own workload and prioritise urgent repairs.
• A strong understanding of health and safety.
• A reliable and proactive approach.

Responsibilities

• Completing general repairs across plumbing, joinery, basic electrical work, fixtures and fittings
• Responding to maintenance requests raised by residents and the site team
• Managing own workloads and changing priorities
• Carrying out planned building checks and preventative maintenance
• Diagnosing faults and completing first time repairs wherever possible

We are recruiting a Maintenance Operative to support the day to day running of a high quality residential building in Newcastle

This is a varied, hands on position suited to somebody with a strong general maintenance / Handyman background who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, presentable and working properly for residents.

You will be the main maintenance presence within the building, responding to repair requests, completing planned checks and resolving issues efficiently. Larger or more specialist works will be supported by a regional technical team and external contractors.

The role will include:
