Job summary

CareTech is seeking a Maintenance Operative in Essex to manage repairs, maintenance, and compliance across premises and site environments.

You will uphold safety and cleanliness, maintain records, and coordinate with facilities on larger projects while supporting safeguarding and equal opportunities. This role emphasizes proactive maintenance and improving educational facilities for students and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with compliance and record keeping.
• A trade background is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry the responsibility for domestic repairs & maintenance upkeep of the premises and all compliance needed for the running of the site.
• Ensure that all parts of the environment are safe, welcoming, clean, hygienic and in good repair.
• Provide high professional standards of record keeping and reports related to the site.
• Participate in and undertake regular audits of the quality systems as necessary.
• Undertake regular inspections and address works from contractors which fall below the required standard.
• Ensure compliance with current national regulations and inspection standards relevant to this establishment.
• Take responsibility and manage your workload, and coordinate with the Regional Facilities Manager on larger projects.
• Identify projects around the facility that improve image, functionality, or operational/educational efficiency.
