Job summary

Lyndon Hall Nursing Home in West Bromwich is seeking a Maintenance Officer to keep the building safe, well maintained and fully operational. You will perform repairs, inspections and general upkeep across the site, ensuring equipment works safely and efficiently.

Working with the Home Manager and team, you will support planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination, upholding health and safety standards and delivering a comfortable environment for Residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable and organized with problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds.
• Perform repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently.
• Identify issues early and take appropriate action.
• Support maintenance planning and contractor coordination.
• Work with Home Manager to maintain a safe environment.

Maintenance Officer Contract

• £13.55 to £13.90 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times. This is a hands on role with responsibility, where your practical skills and proactive approach will directly support the safety, comfort and overall environment.
You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action.
Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will help maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.
