Job summary

Avon Court Care Home in Chippenham is seeking a Maintenance Officer to keep the home safe, well maintained and fully operational. You will perform repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep across the building and grounds, ensuring all equipment runs safely and efficiently.

You will work with the Home Manager and team to support planning, compliance checks and coordination with contractors, maintaining a well-organised environment that meets health and safety standards.

About Avon Court Care Home

Avon Court Care Home is a 56 bed care home located in Chippenham, Wiltshire. Providing nursing and residential care, the home offers a warm and welcoming environment where colleagues work together to deliver high quality, person centred care and make a real difference to the lives of Residents every day.

Maintenance Operative Contract

• £14.05 to £14.40 per hour
• Contracted to 37.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times. This is a hands on role with responsibility, where your practical skills and proactive approach will directly support the safety, comfort and overall environment.

You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action.

Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will help maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.
