Job summary

Lyndon Hall Care Home in West Bromwich is seeking a proactive Maintenance Officer to keep the home safe, well maintained and fully operational. You will perform a wide range of repairs, inspections, and general upkeep to support a comfortable living environment for residents.

Working with the Home Manager and team, you will manage planned maintenance, coordinate contractors, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards while keeping disruption to a minimum for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, facilities or similar role.
• Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable, organized and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action.
• Work closely with the Home Manager and wider team, supporting maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination.
• Maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.

Maintenance Officer Contract

• £13.55 to £13.90 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times. This is a hands on role with responsibility, where your practical skills and proactive approach will directly support the safety, comfort and overall environment.

You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action.

Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will help maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.
