Job description

HC-One is seeking a Maintenance Operative with solid experience in maintenance, building, DIY, cleaning, and housekeeping. The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and preferably some IT skills. Communication skills should be considerate and kind, especially when interacting with residents and colleagues.

The role involves ensuring residents live in a well-maintained environment through regular inspections, audits, and record-keeping. Tasks may include replacing taps or mixer valves, fitting extractor fans, repairing windows, or decorating. Above all, kindness and respect are essential.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. Candidates must be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know how to respond appropriately. All staff are required to attend safeguarding training and undertake additional role-specific training, with the ability to seek advice and escalate concerns when necessary.
