Avon Court Care Home in Chippenham, Wiltshire, is seeking a Maintenance Officer to keep the home safe, well maintained and fully operational. This is a hands-on role with repairs, inspections, installations and upkeep across the building and grounds.

You will work with the Home Manager to plan maintenance tasks, support safety compliance and coordinate contractors, ensuring all work meets health and safety standards and contributes to a comfortable environment for Residents.

Formación

• Experience in maintenance, facilities or similar role.
• General repairs, electrical and building maintenance knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Proactive and practical approach.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are safe, functional and well maintained.
• Assist maintenance planning, compliance checks and occasional contractor coordination.
• Identify issues early and take appropriate corrective action to maintain a safe environment.

As a Maintenance Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times. This is a hands on role with responsibility, where your practical skills and proactive approach will directly support the safety, comfort and overall environment. You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action. Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will help maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role
• Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Understanding of health and safety procedures
• A proactive and practical approach
• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve

  £14.05 to £14.40 per hour
• Contracted to 37.5 hours per week
