Job summary

Advinia is seeking an experienced maintenance person to help keep our care home safe and well maintained for residents. You will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to perform regular servicing, safety checks, and basic plumbing/electrical tasks while communicating effectively with managers, staff, residents and visitors.

Role includes on-call duties, with duties spanning cleaning, furniture assembly, painting and decorating, and ongoing professional training.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to communicate well with managers, colleagues and residents.
• Experience with general maintenance tasks in a care environment is desirable.
• Ability to perform basic plumbing and electrical maintenance and record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Maintenance Manager to keep residents’ living areas safe and well maintained.
• Carry out regular safety checks and service on all equipment with accurate records.
• Maintain clear communication with Home Manager, residents and visitors.
• Perform basic plumbing and electrical maintenance tasks.
• Clean and maintain general areas and assist with furniture assembly.
• Assist with painting and decorating as required.
• Be prepared for on-call duties.

Your role will include:

• Working closely with the Maintenance Manager or nominated colleagueto make sure that our residents live in a place that is safe and well maintained at all times
• Ensuring that regular safety checks and servicing is carried out on all equipment and accurate records are kept.
• Having excellent communication with the Home Manager and also the Residents
• Basic plumbing and electrical maintenance
• Clearing and Cleaning general areas
• Assembling furniture
• Painting and decorating

This position will require on call duties

You must have excellent communication skills with Manager's, Colleagues, Residents and Visitors to the Home.
