A typical day in the life of a Maintenance Operative:
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, swimming pool, and fitness equipment
  • Monitor preventative maintenance contractors to ensure the longevity and reliability of equipment
  • Address and resolve maintenance issues promptly, such as fixing leaks, electrical faults, and equipment malfunctions
  • Troubleshoot problems and determine effective solutions, coordinating with external contractors when necessary
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and club policies
  • Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments, reporting hazards or non-compliance issues
  • Maintain cleanliness and good repair of all club areas, including gym floors, changing rooms, and common areas
What we are looking for:
  • Previous experience in a maintenance role
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Physical capability for tasks involving lifting, bending, and extended standing
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Valid driving license and own vehicle

Desirable qualifications include a diploma or vocational qualification in a related field, experience with plumbing and joinery, and a 17th Edition Electrical qualification or equivalent.
