Role Profile
As a Maintenance Operative at aparto, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, comfort, and quality of our student accommodations at Brigg Point. You will maintain our facilities to high standards, with support and guidance from the General Manager. Your duties include, but are not limited to:
General Repairs: Performing repairs to maintain the condition and functionality of student accommodations, complying with health and safety regulations.
Plumbing and Heating Repairs: Managing basic plumbing and heating repairs safely and efficiently, with ongoing training support.
Patch Painting: Carrying out painting tasks to uphold aesthetic standards, ensuring safety compliance.
Inspections: Conducting regular inspections of facilities and grounds, identifying maintenance needs, and reporting findings.
Incident Management: Reporting incidents promptly to ensure swift resolution, prioritizing safety.
Record Keeping: Keeping accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and safety checks for compliance.
Safety Inspections: Performing safety checks using established checklists and addressing concerns with facilities management.
Storage Areas: Keeping storage areas clean and organized.
Equipment Inspection: Inspecting mechanical equipment in plant rooms and reporting issues.
Fire Alarm Testing and Emergency Response: Testing fire alarms regularly and responding to emergencies as trained.
Water Temperature and Flushing: Monitoring water temperatures and conducting flushing procedures.
Snow Clearing: Clearing pathways of snow and gritting as needed.
Portable Appliance Testing (PAT): Conducting annual PAT tests to ensure safety compliance, with training support.
Safety Promotion: Promoting safe working practices and participating in health and safety training.
Clean Workspaces: Maintaining tidy work areas to ensure safety and efficiency.
Security Awareness: Following security protocols and collaborating on security matters.
