Liaise is seeking a Maintenance Officer to install flooring, carry out repairs, and perform preventive maintenance in care home settings. The role requires coordination with managers and staff to ensure timely access to materials and equipment while maintaining high health and safety standards.

You will work under the facilities manager, performing decorating, plumbing, carpentry tasks, and basic electrical checks as needed.

Qualifications

• Kind, compassionate, empathetic; able to work in a care home environment.
• Experience in striping/preparing subfloors and installing flooring.
• Knowledge of COSHH requirements.

Responsabilités

• Inspect and evaluate works allocated; coordinate with managers and instructors to supply equipment and materials.
• Carry out repair works and planned/reactive maintenance in care home environments.
• Respond to planned and emergency repairs promptly with safety and quality in mind.
• Report potential hazards to the facility manager and support service managers.

About the role.

To carry out installation of different types of flooring including all stripping and preparation works required, planned and reactive maintenance to all services and groundsensuring that all Health & Safety, regulatory and company standards are met.

At Liaise, you will work with extraordinary people who achieve fantastic successes for the people we support. Your main responsibilities will be to inspect and evaluate works that have been allocated, carrying out repair works, coordinate with managers, instructors, and others to provide equipment and materials needed within the care home environment, source and purchase good quality supplies and materials whilst being cost effective.

You will be working in an environment, which supports people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and associated complex health needs, to live the life they want to within our services. You will support the managers of these services by ensuring a safe environment for the people we support, carrying out repairs and maintenance so there is minimal disruption the service users.

You will respond to planned and emergency repairs immediately considering health and safety requirements and solutions to rectify as quickly as possible whilst ensuring high levels of quality.

About You

• You will be kind, compassionate, empathetic and comfortable to work in a care home environment.
• Professionally strip, prepare subfloors to install flooring such as carpet, vinyl, laminate, carpet tile where necessary.
• You will have knowledge and skills in carrying out minor repairs such as replacing taps, fixing doors, decorating, gardening.
• You will ideally be comfortable to assist with painting and decorating, plumbing and carpentry work, maintaining electrical equipment and fire alarm testing as required
• You will able to perform preventive maintenance on equipment and building facility systems where allocated by facility manager.
• You will undertake checks for leaks TMV’s where requested by facility manager and for operation of boiler, water heater, furnace and refrigeration
• You will report any potential hazards to the facility manager.
• You will willing to take on any additional responsibilities on behalf of the service as instructed by the facilities manager
• You will have knowledge of COSHH requirements
