Job summary

Stef & Philips is seeking a maintenance multi-trader to visit properties across London, inspecting for StS compliance and carrying out remedial maintenance as required. You will join a field-based team working with inspectors and coordinators to ensure repairs are carried out promptly.

The role requires substantial experience in carpentry, plumbing and plastering, plus driving license and an enhanced DBS. You will manage inspections, update the PDA system and provide excellent customer service

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in multi-skilled trade repairs and maintenance, esp. carpentry and plumbing, plus plastering.
• Experience with managing vulnerable individuals and HMO properties.
• Excellent communication to build relationships with colleagues and external teams.
• Full UK driving license.
• DBS/Police check, enhanced.
• Ability to prioritise workload in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong attention to detail and good admin skills.
• Previous experience in a similar position.
• Able to work on own initiative and in a team.
• Flexible to meet varying role demands.

Responsibilities

• Take instructions from the administrator on daily job schedules.
• Attend unit inspections and prepare properties for inspections, carrying out proactive maintenance.
• Register job progress and compile reports.
• Accurate data collection for each job (photos/videos).
• Build strong working relationships with StS inspectors.
• Maintain stock levels for materials and supplies in your vehicle.
• Ensure high levels of customer service and handle complaints empathetically.
• Carry out other duties as requested by other departments.

Job description

The Role
We're proud to be an approved StS provider, which gives our local authority clients and our tenants the confidence that the accommodation we provide is safe and of a good standard.As a maintenance multi trader, you'll visit ourproperties across London to inspect them for compliance with StS (setting the standard),carrying out remedial maintenance as required.

You'll also attend each property's annual inspection and will build a strong working relationship with the inspectors.

You'll be part of a largerteam of other field based maintenance multi-traders, andoffice based co-ordinators to ensure that repairs are carried out promptly and effectively.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Taking instructions from the administrator regarding the daily schedule of jobs

• Attending units for inspections, and to prepare them for inspections, carrying out proactive maintenance repairs as required

• Registering job progress reports and completing job reports

• Accurate collation of data for each job (photos/ videos)

• Build a strong and effective working relationship with the team of StS inspectors

• Ensure material and supply stock levels are maintained at all times within your vehicle

• Ensure that the highest levels of customer service are fully implemented to achieve customer satisfaction guaranteeing complaints are handled with empathy and professionalism

• Any other relevant duties as requested by other departments

• Updating information on PDA system

• To comply with Stef & Philips policies and to carry out any duties that may reasonably be required

Skills & Knowledge

• Demonstrate substantial experience in multi-skilled trade repairs and maintenance, particularly carpentry and plumbing, and ideally plastering

• Experience with managing vulnerable individuals and managing HMO properties

• Good communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external teams.

• Full clean UK Driver’s license

• A clean Enhanced DBS / Police checked

• Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a high-pressure environment

• Close attention to detail

• Strong administrative skills

• Previous experience in a similar position

• Working on own initiative without close supervision and as part of a team

• Work flexibly to meet the varying demands of the role in order to achieve agreed outcomes

• Knowledge and experience working in temporary and emergency accommodation

• Experience of fire-safety related work and repairs
