Job summary

South East Water UK is seeking a Production Manager (Maintenance) to lead a team of Electrical and Mechanical technicians within the drinking water sector. You will oversee both reactive and planned maintenance across the Water Supply Sussex department, ensuring safe, reliable service and proactive downtime minimisation.

The role requires strong leadership, a good grasp of SCADA/PLC control, and experience managing an operational budget.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in managing and leading a team to meet performance and safety targets.
• Understanding of processes controlled by SCADA and PLCs; capable of diagnosing and repairing industrial plant.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across sites and help refine maintenance strategy.
• Coordinate with Production Work Scheduler and Maintenance Planner to source equipment and contractors.
• Lead health and safety culture; manage ~6 technicians via appraisals and briefs.
• Analyse site performance, reliability, and water quality for regulatory compliance.
• Set and manage the operational budget and participate in out-of-hours standby.
