Job summary

South East Water UK is recruiting a Production Manager (Maintenance) to lead a team of Electrical and Mechanical Technicians, overseeing reactive and planned maintenance in the Water Supply West department to ensure a top-quality, safe, reliable service for customers.

You will develop maintenance strategy, coordinate with schedulers, manage budgets, and participate in standby duties. A strong background in SCADA/PLC, electrical and mechanical plant, and proven leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires strong numeracy and literacy with a management qualification.
• Proven experience leading a multi-skilled technical team to hit performance and safety targets.
• Ability to interpret and manage processes controlled by SCADA and PLCs and to maintain electrical and mechanical plant.
• Experience managing an operational budget and equipment sourcing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across sites and refine maintenance strategy.
• Schedule and prioritise activities with the Production Work Scheduler and Maintenance Planner.
• Embed a strong health and safety culture and develop the maintenance team through 1:1s and appraisals.
• Analyse site performance, reliability, and water quality to ensure regulatory compliance and optimise operations.
• Set and manage the operating budget, forecasting spend and identifying risks and opportunities.
• Participate in out-of-hours standby rota and lead production activities during incidents.
