Job summary

South East Water is seeking a Production Manager (Maintenance) to provide decisive leadership to a team of Electrical and Mechanical Technicians across the Water Supply Sussex department. You will oversee both reactive and planned maintenance programmes to ensure a safe, reliable water service with minimal downtime.

Key duties include developing maintenance strategy, managing scheduling with the Production Work Scheduler and Maintenance Planner, and leading a 6-strong team while maintaining

Qualifications

• Good standard of secondary education with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Proven experience in managing and leading a team.
• Excellent communication and motivational skills to develop a multi-skilled technical team.
• Ability to understand/processes controlled by SCADA and PLCs.
• Experience maintaining industrial electrical and mechanical plant, including pumps, motors, drives, valves and switchgear.
• Solid background in managing electrical and mechanical maintenance activity and an operational budget.
• Must hold a valid Driving License and participate in standby duties.

Responsibilities

• Oversee delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across all sites.
• Help develop and refine maintenance strategy, processes and procedures.
• Schedule and prioritise maintenance with Production Work Scheduler.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Planner to source equipment and contractors.
• Embed and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
• Lead a team of ~6 Maintenance Technicians through one-to-ones and appraisals.
• Support production managers in site performance, reliability and water quality analysis.
• Set and manage the operating budget and forecast spend.
• Participate in out-of-hours standby rota and lead during incidents.
