A healthcare organization in Ilford is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations across multiple sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing estate services and ensuring compliance with technical standards. This role involves leading a team, managing budgets, and delivering customer-focused solutions within the healthcare sector. NELFT Trust staff operate from nearly two hundred sites located across North East London, Essex and Kent. Operating a 24/7 service, the Estates Maintenance Team is directly responsible for the safe operation of a number of those sites that are either owned and/or managed by NELFT.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for delivering a safe, efficient and effective maintenance service through managing various contractors.
The postholder must ensure that engineering and building activities are compliant with statutory legislation, Health Technical Memorandums (HTMs) and other relevant codes of practice. The postholder is responsible for the reactive, corrective and planned maintenance of equipment, engineering services and building fabric for all Healthcare properties under their control. The postholder will also liaise with our landlords in order to support NELFT staff working on those sites where the landlords are responsible for the maintenance of their own sites.

NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a pro rata for part time).

This post will be required to participate in the Estates on-call rota and attracts a payment of 3% of the basic salary.
