Job summary

Kerry is seeking a Maintenance Manager at the Coleraine site to lead a team of eight engineers, drive maintenance excellence and ensure safe, reliable operation of cheese production and supporting processes.

You will report to the Site Engineering Manager, oversee day-to-day maintenance, support equipment installations, improvements and projects, while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. This permanent role runs Monday–Friday, day shift.

Qualifications

• Relevant electrical or mechanical qualification, diploma or degree.
• At least 5 years’ experience in a similar maintenance/engineering role within manufacturing.
• A previous leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• A practical, hands-on approach with strong people leadership skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships across Production, Engineering and other functions.
• Fluent English.
• Good Microsoft Office and SAP skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 8 engineers, providing clear direction, coaching and support to build a high-performing maintenance team.
• Manage day-to-day maintenance activities, balancing planned and urgent work to minimise downtime and support production priorities.
• Deliver the preventative maintenance and asset care programme, ensuring work is completed effectively and on schedule.
• Improve equipment reliability, identifying recurring issues, implementing corrective actions and reducing emergency repair work.
• Provide technical support and direction for equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
• Ensure high standards of Health & Safety and compliance across all engineering and maintenance activities.
• Work closely with Production and other site teams to understand priorities, resolve issues and continuously improve operational performance.
• Support site projects and expansion activities, including equipment installation, upgrades and overhauls.
• Manage contractors, spare parts and the maintenance budget, ensuring resources and expenditure are managed effectively.
• Monitor key maintenance KPIs and maintain accurate technical documentation, maintenance records and equipment information.
