Job summary

Aspion is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations at its Cardiff shredding facility. You will lead a team of mechanical and electrical engineers, ensuring preventative maintenance is robust and downtime is minimised.

£50,000–£55,000 depending on experience, plus a 5% annual bonus, relocation package, and pension. This role suits engineers with strong planning, leadership, and a track record in heavy industrial environments.

Qualifications

• Experience leading maintenance teams in heavy industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance and planned maintenance programs.
• Proven ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and implement improvements.
• Experience with heavy process equipment and safety/compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of maintenance operations across the shredding facility.
• Develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance to minimise disruption and maximise uptime.
• Lead and manage a team of mechanical and electrical engineers and fitters.
• Oversee reactive maintenance, breakdowns, fault finding, and repair activities.
• Identify recurring failures and implement reliability improvements.
• Ensure tasks are prioritised, scheduled, and completed effectively.
• Coordinate maintenance with production schedules.
