The role

The Maintenance Manager will oversee personnel and resources related to Flightline and Rectification activities supporting the operational flying requirements for the RAF, representing BAE Systems Air.

Responsibilities include:

1. Leading safety engagement and accountability in line with the Safety Development Plan and customer systems.
2. Demonstrating transparent leadership to improve communication and employee experience.
3. Ensuring maintenance planning aligns with fleet planning and managing resource variations.
4. Managing workforce qualifications and experience levels.
5. Overseeing safety, welfare, and discipline of approximately 130 engineering/support staff across multiple departments.

This full-time, onsite role is based at RAF Valley.

Essential experience

1. Leadership experience in engineering, with delegation authority and motivation skills.
2. Extensive experience with air system maintenance and operational supervision.
3. Proven record of completing QA and technical reports, and safety incident investigations.

Qualifications

1. HND/Degree or equivalent, with relevant experience and formal training.
2. Recognized aircraft engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification.

Security Clearance

Must be able to obtain and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance.
