Job summary

Lumentum is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the safe, reliable and efficient maintenance of the Caswell site, including buildings, utilities and critical infrastructure. You will drive proactive maintenance, manage budgets and coordinate across Production, Engineering, EHS and Quality to support production ramp‑ups and business continuity.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing maintenance activities within a complex industrial, manufacturing, laboratory or critical‑environment facility.
• Experience managing multi‑skilled engineering teams and contractors.
• Strong knowledge of planned preventative and condition‑based maintenance.
• Experience with electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building‑services systems.
• Experience of managing maintenance budgets, suppliers and service contracts.
• Good understanding of health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.
• Ability to plan work around operational and production constraints.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the site maintenance team and maintenance contractors.
• Develop and deliver the planned preventative maintenance programme.
• Reduce reactive maintenance, repeat failures and unplanned downtime.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain high standards across critical infrastructure, including HVAC and cleanroom systems, electrical distribution and standby power systems, UPS and DRUPS, chillers and air‑handling units, UPW, CDA, nitrogen and vacuum systems, fire, life‑safety and emergency systems.
• Ensure all statutory inspections, testing and certification are completed on time.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, asset registers and compliance documentation.
• Manage maintenance budgets, purchase orders, suppliers and contractor performance.
• Ensure all contractors are appropriately approved, inducted and controlled while on site.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities around production requirements, using Green‑to‑Green planning where applicable.
• Ensure all planned interruptions are properly assessed, communicated and approved.
• Support investigations into equipment failures, incidents and near misses, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
• Lead root-cause analysis and continuous‑improvement activities.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, EHS, Quality, Facilities and Project teams.
• Provide clear weekly and monthly reports to the Senior WPS Manager.
• Support capital projects, commissioning, handover and acceptance of new equipment and systems.
• Ensure maintenance strategies are suitable for the site’s future production ramp‑up and business‑continuity requirements.
• Promote strong housekeeping, safety ownership and professional standards across the maintenance function.
