Job summary

Novotel in the United Kingdom is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee all hotel maintenance activities, lead a team of technicians, and ensure safety, quality, and guest readiness across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.

Qualifications

• Experience as Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer or similar in hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of building services, M&E systems and hotel operations.
• Proven leadership, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Scope of Position

Reporting to the General Manager, the Maintenance Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the hotel. By overseeing all maintenance activities, leading and managing a team of technicians as well as maintaining the highest standard of safety and quality, the maintenance manager’s job directly contributes to the enhancement of the guest experience and upholding the hotel’s reputation. This position is in charge of the Security, Health & Safety and Fire Safety of the hotel. They need to be the driving force behind the hotel’s sustainability targets and objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum A-Level, Level 3 Technical Qualification, or equivalent standard of education.
• Proven experience in a Maintenance Manager, Chief Engineer, or similar role within hospitality.
• Strong technical knowledge of building services, M&E systems, and hotel operations.
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of UK Health & Safety, Fire Safety, and compliance requirements.
• A proactive, hands‑on approach with a passion for operational excellence and guest satisfaction.
