Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading industrial manufacturer to recruit a Maintenance Manager for its Invergordon site.
This Maintenance Manager role is based at an 8.6MW combined heat and power (CHP) facility within a large-scale manufacturing plant. It offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated maintenance team, driving plant reliability and performance within a complex, fast-paced operational environment.

Responsibilities and duties of the Maintenance Manager role

Reporting to the Energy Plant Manager, you will:


  • Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary maintenance team, ensuring safe and effective delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance work.

  • Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules aligned with operational goals to optimise equipment uptime.

  • Respond quickly and efficiently to unplanned maintenance issues to minimise downtime.

  • Promote and ensure compliance with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.

  • Manage contractors and suppliers to ensure technical, safety and contractual standards are consistently met.

  • Take ownership of the annual plant shutdown, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to budget.

  • Control engineering budgets and ensure spending is justified, tracked and optimised.

  • Oversee stores and inventory in collaboration with the stores function to support maintenance continuity.

  • Drive performance reporting, training, and continuous improvement across the department.


Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:


  • Level 3 SVQ in Engineering or a related field.

  • Proven supervisory or management experience in a heavy industrial or production environment.

  • Strong background in maintaining mechanical and electrical systems, ideally in a manufacturing or utilities context.

  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems and reactive fault resolution.
