Job summary

Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join the Site Team on a full-time basis. Salary is £40,000 per year, with 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, based at the farm in Cornwall.

Role includes health and safety leadership, maintenance of vehicles and machinery, and project tasks across site buildings. Generous staff perks and development opportunities are offered by Healeys.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of safe working practices.
• Demonstratable experience in practical work and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Maintain health and safety standards and lead by example.
• Inspect and maintain vehicles and equipment; report needs.
• Deputise for Estates Manager when away.
• Carry out building, masonry and carpentry tasks.
• Ensure site is kept clean, safe and tidy.
• Assist Orchard Controller when required.
• Other duties as requested by Directors.

Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm is a family-run, year round visitor attraction and home to the famous Rattler Cyder! With a multi-faceted production facility specialising in a range of products from ciders, wines, preserves and spirits, our business is thriving and has a very exciting future ahead.

A fantastic opportunity is available to join our busy Site Team, to become part of an iconic Cornish business, and to make your mark as Maintenance Manager.

Salary: £40,000 per year

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:30am- 5pm

Duties & Responsibilities

• Have a focus on Health and Safety, setting the example to the rest of the team and adhering to accepted procedures to reduce unwanted events and accidents.
• Ensuring inspection and maintenance of vehicles, agricultural/industrial vehicles, reporting any damage or maintenance requirements to the Estates Manager.
• Deputise for the Estates Manager when they are away from the business
• Carry out regular building, masonry and carpentry maintenance at appropriate times for aesthetics and site safety ranging from painting to plumbing to plastering.
• Carrying out small building and maintenance projects as required across all company sites.
• Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests as required, prioritising other works as directed by the Estates Manager.
• Proactive maintenance of gates and fences, farm grounds and animal enclosures.
• Ensuring machinery and tools are maintained, cleaned, checked as appropriate, safe and ready for use at all times.
• All checklists, relevant paperwork, damage reports and electronic forms completed accurately and timely.
• Ensure the site is kept clean, safe and tidy.
• Security of workshop and all tools/equipment therein.
• Flexibility in duties to ensure best business practice across whole site.
• Working with the site team and assisting when required with animal care following company policies and procedures, and the safe movement of animals from one area of the farm to another.
• Assist the Orchard Controller when required in the Orchards.
• Any other activity/tasks as and when requested by the Directors.

Work Experience

• Proven experience of safe working practices
• Demonstratable experience in practical work and problem solving

Qualifications

• A valid UK Driving Licence
• Tractor Licence and Telehandler qualification
• Chainsaw Certificate
• Site Maintenance qualification or similar
