Job description

Here at Aspris, we are proud to be a leading provider of specialist education services with over 30 schools nationwide. We are recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to join us in opening a new school for autistic children and young people (opening September 2025).

We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to be responsible for all aspects of site compliance, ensuring all documentation, RA and Checks are up to date and leading Health and Safety audits for both schools.

What will Aspris Ridgeway look like?

  • Aspris Ridgeway School will be a centre of autism expertise and excellence, educating up to 60 pupils aged 7-19 with identified autism needs and in receipt of an EHCP.
  • A welcoming school environment with clearly defined specialist therapy and teaching areas, staffed and resourced to meet individual complex needs.
  • A school with strong leadership and governance.
  • A provider of opportunities that engage young people in appropriate learning, so they achieve outstanding progress relative to their starting points.
  • A provider of a highly individualised, therapeutic based curriculum which prepares pupils with skills for lifelong learning.

We aim to open initially with Y5 and Y6 pupils. We are therefore looking for outstanding primary teachers to join us on this exciting journey.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Checking and completing all site documentation and supporting whole site H&S Audits.
  • Supporting and advising the Headteacher on the health and safety checks and ensuring they are fully completed within required timescales.
  • Regular review of all Risk Assessments to be completed in conjunction with the audits making sure that they are site specific and up to date.
  • To ensure that the management and maintenance of the school buildings and environment are effectively undertaken.
  • Proactively identifies and reports damage, faults and other related issues (and then actions as agreed) to ensure that environmental conditions continue to meet quality standards and statutory regulations.
  • Being the main contact for the Headteacher to communicate any maintenance job requests and delegating them appropriately within the team.
  • Works within the school's set budget to ensure the team is completing all tasks assigned.
