Job Description

Maintenance Manager at Parkwood Leisure, a leading operator of publicly owned leisure facilities in the UK, with over 20 years of experience. We work with Legacy and Lex Leisure, delivering first-class services and engaging with local communities to promote healthier lifestyles. This role offers an outstanding career opportunity within a market leader committed to diverse leisure and cultural activities.

The Milton Keynes leisure contract includes two busy centres: a wet and dry leisure centre, a golf course, and a driving range. The Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance services across these facilities, working closely with Centre Managers to ensure high standards of maintenance and quality of leisure facilities for our communities.

Primary Objectives
  1. Support the Contract Manager in managing and controlling the facilities management contract.
  2. Manage daily site maintenance and oversee annual scheduling and planned maintenance projects.
  3. Ensure maintenance projects are prepared, agreed upon, delivered on time, and provide value for money.
  4. Coordinate facilities management functions, maximizing contractor and consultant performance.
  5. Travel between centres as required.
  6. Maintain essential records, including asset registers, statutory compliance, health and safety information, and SOPM records.
  7. Advise on repair issues and resolve them cost-effectively, preparing technical reports as needed.
Day-to-Day Tasks
  • Coordinate maintenance health and safety and fire safety within contracts.
  • Assist in managing and implementing quality assurance systems and procedures.
  • Maintain building and equipment operations.
  • Plan and coordinate maintenance and facilities work to minimize disruption, communicating effectively with client departments.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Area Manager to meet business objectives.
  • Liaise with Parkwood Project Management on scheduled projects, assessing their impact on operations and communicating accordingly.
Candidate Qualifications & Skills
  • Solid technical understanding of building services, electrical, and mechanical maintenance.
  • Proven experience in statutory compliance planning, managing maintenance contracts and teams, with a focus on productivity and quality.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiencies.
  • Hands-on leadership with effective decision-making skills.
  • Accountability for contract performance, including financial oversight and reporting.
  • Strong organizational and people management skills, attention to detail, and a passion for service excellence.
  • Experience managing projects and contractors, maintaining standards, and keeping accurate records.
  • Management background or experience demonstrating successful client relationship management and service planning across multiple locations.
