Pioneer Selection Ltd is actively seeking a experienced Maintenance Manager to lead a highly automated manufacturing site in Leicester. You will manage and develop the engineering team while remaining hands-on to fault-find and maintain equipment.

The role focuses on reliability, continuous improvement and maximising production uptime, offering a clear path to make a significant impact within FMCG manufacturing.

Qualifications

Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager or Engineering Team Leader looking for your next challenge?

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join a highly automated, fast-paced manufacturing site in Leicester.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to lead from the front. You will manage and develop the engineering team while remaining hands-on technically, supporting with fault-finding, breakdowns and maintenance when required.

The site has a strong focus on engineering reliability, continuous improvement and maximising production uptime, making this an ideal role for someone who wants to make a genuine impact.

The Role

• Lead, manage and develop the engineering and maintenance team.
• Oversee planned preventative, reactive and breakdown maintenance.
• Remain hands-on and support engineers with electrical and mechanical fault-finding.
• Drive engineering standards, reliability and continuous improvement.
• Ensure production downtime is kept to a minimum.
• Manage engineering priorities and maintenance activities.
• Work closely with Production to improve site performance.
• Promote a strong health & safety culture across the engineering function.

Non-Negotiable Requirements

• You MUST have:
• Previous leadership or management experience within an engineering/maintenance environment.
• A multi-skilled engineering background, with both electrical and mechanical experience.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification as a minimum.
• A genuinely hands-on approach — this is not a purely office-based management position.
• Previous experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.

The Ideal Candidate

• You may currently be working as a:
• Maintenance Manager
• Engineering Manager
• Engineering Supervisor
• Engineering Team Leader
• Senior Maintenance Engineer
• Experience within FMCG, food manufacturing or high-volume manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
• PLC fault-finding, PPM, continuous improvement and reliability experience would also be beneficial.
